Special Districts Alerts
On Monday, May 10th California Governor Gavin Newsom took action to expand his April 21 drought emergency proclamation to include Lake County. Subsequently on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 the Board of Supervisors took action to ratify Sheriff Martin's proclamation of a local emergency due to drought which was issued on May 5th, 2021.
In response to current conditions and the emergency proclamations Special Districts is implementing its Drought Management Plan and begining with a Stage 1 response for all of our customers. All customers in the five water systems managed by Special Districts are being asked to voluntarily conserve water and reduce usage by 20% to help avoid a critical reduction in storage reserves that could require mandatory water rationing this summer. Also compliance with any State mandated conservation actions are required at this time as well.
The five water systems we manage are: CSA #13 – Kono Tayee, CSA #2 – Spring Valley, CSA #20 – Soda Bay, CSA #21 N Lakeport, and Kelseyville County Water Works District #3 (including CSA #6 Finley/Lands End)
Further information can be found on our "Water Conservation" page listed under the Useful Info menu.
